Music-making is my passion. Since the age of four, I have longed to play specific pieces and to share this desire with fellow musicians.

Since my encounter with historical instruments, I see myself as a re-converter of the musical notation that composers had and have to use and which can never contain all the intended content. In this role, I do my best to restore the richness of the originally conceived ideas and emotions through my complete intellectual and sentimental commitment, never losing my curiosity to explore the compositions themselves and the infinity of their history and context.

One way of pursuing these goals is through direct dialogue with the audience in solo programmes, which I also like to comment on or hold as lecture recitals. The infinite subtleties of communication offered by playing together with a very special chamber music partner are another fixed star in my musical firmament. Conceiving and performing programmes for larger ensembles has always been a logical consequence of the desire to explore the infinite amount of music available to us. For several decades I have regularly conducted opera projects, which opens up a further dimension of overall artistic aspects. Leading large ensembles, orchestra and opera ensembles from the violin, enhances the musical investment of the single musician, as everyone has to regain the responsibility his or her musical role is asking for.
